And you can&#039;t get low-rate loans and scholarships for retirement either.

I got loans and worked my way through a very expensive college with no parental help.
These days, I have a small 529 for my daughter but I&#039;m expecting her to get loans and work too. 
From my own experience, friends in college that didn&#039;t pay for their own education ended up doing nothing with their degree. It&#039;s different when you pay for it.</description>
